We love hosting out of town visitors. Especially when they answer to “Nana” and “Grandpa.” My folks came out from Salt Lake City to visit over the July 4th holiday weekend. The kids were counting down the days, two weeks before their arrival.
We welcomed them with a banner. Olivia spilled water that erased half of it, but we hung it anyway.
Over the weekend, it was non-stop fun. Nana joined the kids for a swim.
We celebrated Independence Day together, complete with a parade, fireworks and lemon cupcakes. You can read all about it here.
Tom and TJ hit 18 holes at Tierra Rejada, then my Mom and I snuck in some antique shopping at the Agoura Antique Mart.
And our last night together we enjoyed a walk on the beach at Westward where we spotted two jellyfish and some huge waves.
It wasn’t enough time, it’s never enough to make up for 700 miles between family. But I’m thankful for the time we had and the memories we made. Until next time, Nana and Grandpa, we’ll be missing you.
